Abrams had admittedly a very difficult task after The Last Jedi. I didn't want to be biased, so on purpose I did not read any reviews at all and went to see this movie with low expectations. I can sum up this review in two main complaints:
1) Maybe I am picky or maybe I'm getting older, but unfortunately these characters never managed to leave a strong impression on me. The only character that piqued my interest and made me care was Kylo Ren, not only because Driver gives by far the best performance of the new generation, but because his dilemmas and emotional traumas made him interesting. The complete opposite of Rey, who apparently can do no wrong and succeeds with minimal training and effort against forces even Luke struggled to defeat. Star Wars was never renowned for its script, but at least had actors good enough to made you overlook some of the dialogue (Alec Guinness, Harrison Ford, Ewan McGregor, Christopher Lee, Samuel Jackson, etc. We didn't have actors of such caliber in this trilogy and it shows in the lack of truly iconic moments. Moments like Anakin telling Luke that he has been saved and then dying or Vader storming the Jedi Temple and killing the younglings.
2) If you shut off your mind and take in the incredibly fast pace, the movie is enjoyable. But the moment you start thinking even a little about what you have seen, the problems begin. A massive fleet that is literally crippled by a single antenna which happens to be left unguarded, a rag-tag fleet of civilian vessels takes out this all powerful fleet, horses running in space. I wasn't disappointed one bit. How they kept Carrie Fishers character alive in the film was wonderful, a great ending to a character that I've watched since I was a little girl. Who I wanted to be. I've never felt so much tension and excitement in a Star Wars film until now. Wonderful new characters and ending of a few.
I will certainly watch it again. Maybe not in 3D this time though. Well done in such a fantastic way to finish a well loved franchise. Would love to see more, but they said that they were only going to do nine and they've done nine. The only thing I wish they had revealed was who was Finns real family and how he became a Stormtrooper. But that is the only negative I will say in this. But certainly a film to watch.

No matter what anyone thinks, all the different opinions on Star Wars, the one thing we can agree on is John Williams never lets us down. Ã¹ã¿ã¼ã»ã¦ãã¼ãº ã¹ã«ãã¦ãã¼ã«ã¼ãåâme à nos coeurs. Saw Star Wars (now called A New Hope) December 1977 in UK. I was 11. What a movie! At the time it was a standalone movie. Empire wasn't and Return of the Jedi finished that trilogy. Episode 7, 8 & 9, LIke 1, 2 & 3 were never meant to be standalone movies, yet people complain when things were left in the air, plot holes etc.
Just came back from watching Episode 9. And I loved it, just like The Last Jedi. My advice, watch it like you were 12 years old and just enjoy it. Don't over analyse it. Just watch it.
People complained when Force Awakens when it was a rehash of A New Hope, then complained with The Last Jedi wasn't a rehash of Empire. Some people are never happy.
Watch it. Enjoy It.
